Explore the Ko Mak Islands

Ko Mak islands in Thailand are located about 40 kilometers off the coast of Krabi, the capital city of Thailand. This picturesque stretch of beach is one of the most well-known beaches on the east coast of Asia. While some tourists may come to Ko Mak just for that reason, others visit this destination in order to enjoy diving, snorkeling, swimming and fishing.

Ko Mak is actually a small island of Trat County, Thailand. It’s a subdistrict of Ko Kut Town. The island is popularly known by the locals as the “bitter apple”. The island boasts of an unspoiled ecosystem because the waters are generally clear of dirt and other pollutants from crop fields. The shallow waters make it possible for predators like barracudas and other marine creatures to feed on the small fish that live there.

There are two beaches on Ko Mak: Crescent Beach northwest of town. Both offer different views and different activities. If you want a more relaxing time at the beach, you can check out the picnic area by the cliff across the Long Bridge. Here you’ll get to watch the amazing sunset and enjoy a meal being cooked by your own family.

If you prefer to explore the deeper waters of Ko Mak Island then the dive shop is your best bet. If you’ve never tried diving before, you should visit the Deep Sea Diving Centre near the southern end of town. At the center you can rent a diving tank or a mask. The waters of Ko Mak are relatively clear, so it’s easy to get a good view of the marine life and creatures that live there. You can also tour the coral beds located atoll around the island.

If you prefer to stay on dry land, the island has several beautiful hotels that offer comfortable accommodation. One of the most popular ones is the Serene Landing Hotel which is on the north end of the island. If you’re not staying at a hotel on the island you can still stay on the beach. There are many places along the beaches where you can relax and unwind like at a small cafĂ© or restaurant.

Tourists to Ko Mak Islands usually travel by ferry from Cairns. This is the easiest way to get around the island. You can hire a car from Cairns if you’re not keen on walking or hiking. Hiring a car enables you to see more of the island, but won’t take much longer. You can visit the Na Pali village, where the famous Captain Cook first made his trip to Hawaii.

To get here, you only need to get a taxi. The cost for one fare is about $20. If you want to walk to the center, you will have to pay extra for this. Otherwise, all you have to do is board a ferry from Cairns and arrive in front of the wharf in Ko Mak. You can find some great restaurants in front of the wharf as well.

To get to the top of the island, you can walk, but it’s better to use a ferry. The view is spectacular and there’s not too many people walking along the waters, so you’ll be able to see whales. The waters are calm and safe for swimming for those who don’t like the water. However, if you want to go swimming, you will need to take a life preserver and remember to keep away from the sharks! This is definitely one of the must-do activities while you’re in Ko Mak Islands!

If you’re interested in history, you should visit the Sunday Market, where you can get fresh vegetables and fruits, potted flowers, handicrafts, and native arts. You can also see authentic Pohutukawa crafts and learn about the lifestyle and culture of the indigenous people. If you want to go further afield, you can hike the Wailua River and visit the tribal villages at the bottom of the seas.

One of the best parts of visiting Ko Mak Islands is that you can go scuba diving at any time of the year. Most of the islands are not developed for scuba diving, but you can still go to the seas and see what’s there. For now, the best time to go scuba diving in Ko Mak is during the months of April and May. There are also dive shops at each of the islands, so you can hire a diver at any time. This will enable you to visit more than just the beaches; you’ll see some wonderful reefs and beautiful marine animals.

To get back to dry land, you’ll have plenty of options. You can spend the day at one of the many restaurants on the islands. Or you can just relax by the beaches and enjoy the beautiful weather. The weather in Ko Mak is mostly pleasant all year round, although in the peak summer months, you might experience a little tropical storms. April and May are when the storms are the strongest. You’ll also find it easier to get around the islands if you plan to visit during one of those months instead of in the summer months.
