Crabs Trade Shells in the Strangest Way

 

I feel terrible about the final crab. He discovered it, waited, but never even received a new shell. This type of negativity is NOT what I need in my life.

 

Blessed be that little crab. He got enormous after a few months, and I have no doubt that he was the first person selected at shell exchange events.

By chance, I once saw this event occur when I was fishing blue crabs in around 8 inches of water in Texas. Around 20 hermit crabs switched in a 5 foot line. a fantastic sight to behold
